Amy Runge LCPC, PMH-C
Founder of Nurturing Womanhood Therapy
"I believe therapy, like people, is unique. You deserve a space where you can move at your own pace, supported by someone who truly understands the weight of what you’re carrying."
My Journey & Expertise
Amy is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Provider. A graduate of Loyola University Chicago with a degree in Pastoral Counseling, she has spent her career creating gentle, restorative spaces for women navigating anxiety, depression, chronic illness, and the major identity shifts that come with midlife and perimenopause.
Why I Specialize in Women’s Mental Health
In 2016, Amy’s path changed when she became a Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG) survivor. Living through a high-risk, traumatic pregnancy gave her a firsthand look at how isolating and "harder than expected" the road to parenthood can be. This experience ignited her passion for Perinatal Mental Health—supporting women through the "all around" of birth, from the first spark of wanting a child through the baby’s first year.
A Partner in Your Healing
Whether you are struggling with the emotional toll of PMDD, navigating the "brain fog" of perimenopause, or recovering from a difficult birth, Amy approaches your care with deep empathy and zero judgment. She believes her role is to follow your lead, helping you explore your goals and values in a sanctuary designed specifically for you.
